OPEN MISSION · OPEN NUMBERS

WHAT REALLYREMAINS?

One million sold dominoes would mean €1,000,000 in gross customer payments — not €1,000,000 profit and certainly not €1,000,000 in a private wallet. This page shows the money flow step by step.

THE NUMBERS THAT SHOW THE DIFFERENCE

€1,000,000 revenue is not €1,000,000 profit.

First we show the documented direct calculation. Then, deliberately separated, comes an illustrative model for further entrepreneurial costs and charges.

GROSS CUSTOMER PAYMENTS1,000,000.00 €1,000,000 dominoes × €1
AFTER VAT + STRIPE575,336.13 €before hosting, further costs and taxes
FULL-COST MODEL · EXAMPLE150,366.00 €illustrative remainder — not a tax forecast
1 · DIRECT CALCULATION · GERMANY · STANDARD EEA CARD

What happens to a single euro?

This first block uses only clearly named example assumptions: 19% German VAT and Stripe’s standard EEA card fee. International taxes, card types and payment methods can differ.

Customer pays1.00 €
included German VAT example (19%)− 0.1597 €
net revenue after VAT0.8403 €
Stripe standard EEA card: 1.5% + €0.25− 0.2650 €
remainder after VAT + payment processing0.5753 €

Sources for these example assumptions: Bundesfinanzministerium · 19 % USt. · Stripe · 1,5 % + 0,25 €

2 · REAL START-PHASE COSTS

Hosting does not automatically cost the same amount per domino.

CURRENT HOSTING10.00 €/ month
PAID DOMINOES THIS MONTH10live from the project
HOSTING SHARE PER DOMINO1.0000 €€10 divided by monthly sales
Current calculated remainder per domino after VAT, standard Stripe example and the current monthly hosting share-0.4247 €

With today’s direct example costs, at least 18 dominoes per month are needed just to cover the current €10 hosting from the direct remainder. As the project grows, server, backup, accounting, marketing and other operating costs may arise or increase. They are only shown as real project costs once they actually occur.

3 · FULL-COST MODEL · EXAMPLE ONLY

How €575,336.13 can illustratively become €150,366.

This second block is deliberately not a tax calculation. After VAT, Stripe and today’s annual hosting, the example applies one aggregated further-burden block. It illustratively represents typical entrepreneurial items such as additional operating costs, insurance/social contributions, income tax and, where applicable, trade tax.

MODEL ASSUMPTION FOR THE SECOND STAGE73.86 %

of the amount remaining after VAT, Stripe and current annual hosting is treated in this purely illustrative calculation as further costs and charges. This is explicitly not a real tax rate and not a forecast.

1,000,000 customer payments at €11,000,000.00 €
included VAT in the German 19% example− 159,663.87 €
Stripe for 1m separate standard EEA card payments− 265,000.00 €
remainder after VAT + Stripe575,336.13 €
current hosting annualised: 12 × €10− 120.00 €
aggregated model block: further entrepreneurial costs + charges− 424,850.13 €
EXAMPLE: illustrative remainder150,366.00 €
€1,000,000 gross customer payments → €575,336.13 after VAT + Stripe → €150,366.00 remaining in the full-cost example.
4 · THE SCALE

From 1,000 to 1,000,000 dominoes.

This shows at a glance how far revenue and an actually available amount can diverge. Every value in the final column belongs to the illustrative model described above.

5 · WHAT THE CALCULATION SHOWS

Revenue, profit and private net income are three different things.

1

Revenue

What customers pay in total.

2

Business remainder

What remains after VAT, payment processing and real operating costs.

3

Privately available

Only after taxes, insurance and further personal charges does a private net amount emerge.

Important: The full-cost figures are a deliberately simplified model calculation and are not tax advice, a tax assessment or a promise of future profit. As soon as real additional project costs or reliable annual figures exist, they will be added transparently here or replace model assumptions.
